Elisabeth Mann was born in Hungary. At the age 18, she along with her family was sent to Auschwitz and spent 12 months there and in 5 other concentration camps. Her entire family was murdered by the Nazis. Elisabeth immigrated to the United States with her husband in 1955. She now resides in Los Angeles and is part of the Simon Wiesenthal Centers outreach program where she lectures at the Museum of Tolerance to students of all ages about her experiences as a Holocaust Survivor.
In this video, Elisabeth describes how she recently consoled a sobbing visitor at the museum, who told her that he was most ashamed of his own father - a former killer and member of the SS.
